Waverley Borough Council have refused planning permission for 53 houses on the Coombebury site in Dunsfold. It’s interesting to see that on page 10 of the officers report under the heading “Planning Considerations” he says “The Local Plan (Part 2) 2023 confirms that site allocations in Dunsfold will take place in the Dunsfold Neighbourhood Plan. The emerging Neighbourhood Plan recognises that a further 32 dwellings should be delivered as a minimum to meet this requirement under Policy H01, and it is notable that it does not include the application site; and there are alternative sites available for development in the village.” This illustrates just how important it is to have a neighbourhood plan and how, even at this early stage, it offers protection against unwanted development.
